"* The Predators yesterday moved Hamhuis and Arnott, and we are all being told more is on the way. The debate going on is do the Preds need to save more money or are they gearing up to make a splash? Say Marleau, Spezza, or Kovalchuk?

I have been receiving mixed signals so far. A top source yesterday, after the Hamhuis deal, told me they may be getting ready to "trade for the rights to a Superstar," adding, "The Ownership there is going for it. They are seeing this opportunity. Not many teams have any money to offer these guys and the feeling is the Preds fans will go crazy for a star. The way they did for Kariya and Forsberg."

And then, when Arnott, a heart and soul guy, was dealt I really felt this to be true. But I decided to wait until I could get to a few more sources.

Today I am getting sources saying, "The Preds need to save some money for their current players."

So basically...the verdict is still out and I am still on it."
